What is the CCi Certification?

The CCi Certification is a comprehensive online program which takes individuals through the formal “Pillars” of an investigation: Triage; Assessment, Planning; Scoping, Acquiring Evidence, Interviewing, Reporting and Stakeholder Management. The complete 19-module program allows candidates to develop and enhance their knowledge of the fundamental principles, practices and methodologies to conduct Corporate Investigations effectively and ethically. The CCi certification is a flexible online learning course which provides real-world case studies, multimedia content, interactive tools, sense checks, bite-sized learning segments and audio / video recordings. Each module builds on the foundational knowledge of the Corporate Investigators Handbook, enhanced by the expertise of skilled in-house investigators working across all sectors.

    The Certified Corporate Investigator (CCi) programme is a comprehensive online learning and development course designed to guide participants through the core “Pillars” of corporate investigations, including:

    Delivered through 19 interactive modules, the CCi equips candidates with the knowledge, methodologies, and ethical principles required to conduct effective, defensible, and globally aligned corporate investigations. The course includes real-world case studies, multimedia materials, interactive exercises, knowledge checks, and audio/video resources to support flexible and practical learning. Each module builds on the Corporate Investigators Handbook, enriched by insights from experienced in-house investigators across sectors.

  • Do I need any prior experience or qualifications?
    No. Whilst no prior experience is required, the CCi provides a strong foundation for individuals new to investigations and offers a consistent competency framework for organisations aiming to upskill and certify those involved in internal investigations.
    Is the course self-paced?
    Yes. The CCi is entirely self-paced and accessible at your convenience through the ACi’s e-learning platform.

    Access & Technology
  • How do I access the course materials?
    All course content is delivered through the ACi Academy, the ACi’s (Moodle-based) e-learning platform. Each module contains its own dedicated resources and activities.
  • What devices or software do I need?
    The course can be accessed via any modern internet browser. The Moodle App may also be used by entering the ACi Academy ID to connect to the correct platform.
  • Can I access the course on my mobile device?
    Yes. The course is fully accessible through mobile browsers or via the Moodle App for an optimised learning experience.
  • What membership requirements are there to take the CCi?
    Access to the CCi course materials requires an active ACi membership. Memberships renew annually (Internal: £45 / External: £65). Your membership provides you with the access to the content and suite of learning materials.

    🎓 Certification & Outcomes
  • Will I receive a certificate upon completion?
    Yes. Upon successfully passing the final examination, you will receive an electronic certificate accessible within the ACi Academy and emailed to your registered ACi member address. Each certificate includes a QR code linked to the ACi verification portal.
  • Is the CCi certificate recognised by employers or institutions?
    Yes. The CCi has been fully developed with experts from a wide range of industry sectors, who have given their full support to the CCi. It is the certification of choice for many employers who expect the assurance that the CCi provides when considering candidates for relevant roles in their organisation.
  • What is the academic level for the CCi?
    It is important to understand that there is no single “academic level” for an industry certification such as the CCi, as it varies widely depending on the specific certification, the awarding body, and the industry.
    The ACi is however both a governing and accrediting organisation and considers the CCi to meet post-graduate level certification when reviewed against reference frameworks for other similar vocational qualifications alongside traditional academic levels.  
  • What skills will I gain?
    By completing the CCi, participants will be able to demonstrate that they:

  • Are there any assessments or exams?
    Yes. A 100-question (multiple-choice) final exam becomes available once all 19 modules have been completed. The questions are carefully selected in order to challenge the candidate, and based on the content that they have reviewed within the 19 separate modules.

  • Is instructor support or mentorship available?
    The course is self-contained and does not include instructor-led teaching or mentorship.
    The ACi offers bespoke training for organisations, much of which will assist with the CCi programme. If your organisation is interested in this, please enquire. For assistance or technical support, learners may contact admin@my-aci.com.
  • Can I ask questions during the course?
    Yes. The ACi Academy includes discussion forums where learners can engage with peers. ACi administrators also monitor forum activity and may respond to questions raised by the learning community.
  • Is there a community or forum for students?
    Yes. Learners have access to module-specific discussion forums within the ACi Academy.

    Payment & Refunds
  • How much does the course cost?
    Individual enrolment in the CCi programme is GBP 999.00
    Discounted rates are available for organisations enrolling multiple participants.
  • Are there any discounts or scholarships available?
    Group enrolment discounts are available for organisations registering multiple learners. Discounts and scholarships are discretionary, according to need.
  • What is the refund policy?
    After purchasing the CCi, no refunds are permitted. However, candidates can fulfil the scheme requirements in their own timeframe, providing their membership with the ACi is current.
  • Can I pay in instalments?
    Unfortunately, it is not possible to pay in instalments at this time.

  • Will the course be updated regularly?
    Yes. The ACi conducts periodic updates to ensure the CCi remains aligned with current investigative best practices and evolving industry standards. Updates are communicated through the ACi Academy’s notification system.
  • Do I receive access to future updates?
    Yes. Learners with an active ACi membership and CCi enrolment automatically receive access to any future course updates.
